Chanda Romero is a Philippine actress.[1] She is mostly seen on GMA Network and appeared seven times on ABS-CBN.
This award winning actress has played supporting roles to leading roles in many films during the early and late 70s her prolific work in Sexy comedies and Dramas and dramadies caught the attention of many directors but in the 80s actions and dramas showed her serious work as an actress in Ishmael Bernals Working Girls she and many veteran actresses showed there seriousness in this film in Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin she showed a different side of a villain approach her most underrated work was also showed in kapag Tumabang Ang Asin with Daria Ramirez and many and 1980’s Pag Ibig Na Walang Dangal with Dindo Fernando and Charo Santos

Chanda V. Romero is the daughter of Enrique Villanueva Romero of Bais City Negros Oriental ( Old Spanish and Chinese descent ) and Remedios Valenzuela of Cebu City .A family of Politics ,Sugar Planter, Artists and Cultural Workers in Negros Oriental. One of the Most Powerful family in Negros Villanuevas, Teveses, Pinili,,Romero,Calumpang , Villamil ,Baena and Gomez Clan.She is the niece of award winning Film Director Eddie Sinco Romero,related to Yasmin Romero Character Actress in the 60s and 70s,Cousin of Film Director and MTRCB Board of Director Joey Romero and Raymund A. Villanueva fashion Director
Career
In the 1970s and the 1980s she had a staple of films she starred with Award Winning Actresses' Elizabeth Oropesa, Hilda Koronel, Gloria Diaz, and Daria Ramirez in a bunch of films her number of work also caught the eyes of Celso Ad Castillo, Ishmael Bernal, Danny Zialcita and Lino Brocka her prolific leading men include Philip Salvador, Eddie Garcia, Christopher De Leon, Dindo Fernando, and Joel Torre and etc. Her sexy and serious roles even caught attention in films like Working Girls and Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin? In the 1990s although her television success in Villa Quintana brought her praise she starred in Ligaya Ang Itawag Mo Sa Akin a prolific movie with Director Carlos Siguion Reyna with Rosanna Roces
Personal life
She is now happily married to Jose Mari "Mayi" Alejandrino.So last Oct. 25,2013,the couple asked the immediate family to be at Casino Espanol de Cebu an hour earlier.. (Mass and Mom’s birthday dinner was to be held at 6pm)…so we could squeeze in our civil rites. On May 17, 2014 Chanda and Mayi made their vows in a commitment ceremony at the Tierra de Maria Chapel in Tagaytay.
