Chaerhan railway station
Cha'erhan railway station (察尔汗站) is a station on the Chinese Qingzang Railway. It is located in the Qaidam Basin, not far from the Cha'erhan (Qarhan) Salt Lake (察尔汗盐湖), where major salt works are located. As of 2012, a 25-km private railway branch from this station to the nearby facilities of the Zangge Potash Co Ltd. is under construction.[1]
Most passenger trains pass through Qarhan without stopping. As of 2017, just one train a day in each direction (local service Xining-Golmud) stops there.[2]
