Centre for Process Innovation Limited (CPI) is a science and technology innovation centre based in Wilton, Cleveland, United Kingdom. Established in 2003 by the UK Government agency, ONE NorthEast, the company was one of five centres of excellence in a long-term strategy to "reposition the North-East [of England] on the world stage for research and development".[1]

Facilities

The company has four sites in the Durham and Tees regions:[2]

Three further facilities were announced in 2014:

  • Biologics Factory of the Future[3]
  • National Horizons Centre, Darlington[4] – in partnership with Teesside University[5]
  • Graphene Applications Innovation Centre, NETPark[6]

Funding

In 2011, CPI joined the UK Government's Catapult centres network.[7] It has also received funding from the European Regional Development Fund and the EU's Horizon 2020 programme.[8] Further funding through the Catapult network was announced in 2018.[9]
