Central Square is a shopping centre in the town centre of Ballarat.[1] It includes a multi-storey car park that is free of charge for stays of up to 2 hours.

History

Central Square opened on 28 April 1988 on the site of the former Town Hall Hotel. Initially it was located next door to a free standing Myer department store, which had opened in 1905. Myer was later connected to the centre on the 1st level. Myer celebrated 100 years in Ballarat in 2005.[2]

Tenants

Central Square has 23,558m² of floor space, comprising 41 stores over three levels serviced by 634 car spaces. The major retailers, which are located at either end of the centre, include Myer and Target.
