Caterina Cybo (1501-1557) was the duchess of Camerino.[1]
Her mother was Maddalena de' Medici and her father was Franceschetto Cybo, and she was the granddaughter of Lorenzo de' Medici and a niece of Pope Leo X.[2][1]
In 1520 she married Giovanni Maria da Varano, the duke of Camerino, but in 1527 he died of the plague.[1] They had a daughter, Giulia, and Caterina arranged Giulia's marriage to Guidobaldo II della Rovere, which occurred in 1534.[1]
She was part of the wedding of Catherine de' Medici and Henri II of France, which occurred in 1533.[1][3]
