Carters, Georgia

Carters is an unincorporated community in Murray County, in the U.S. state of Georgia.[1] Nearby Carters Lake, impounded by Carters Dam, takes its name from the community.[2]

History

The community was named after Farish Carter, the owner of a plantation.[2] The Carters post office was discontinued in 1976.[3]
