Carlos Muñoz (baseball)

Carlos Muñoz Tompito (born October 19, 1979) is a Panamanian professional baseball catcher who has played for the Panamanian national baseball yeam on and off for a few years. He appeared in the 2006 World Baseball Classic.

He played in the 2002 Intercontinental Cup, hitting .500 in 26 at-bats, with seven doubles, a home run, six runs scored and seven RBI. He was selected to be on the All-Tournament team. In 2004, he played for Saim Rho of Serie A1 in baseball, with whom he hit .258 with 27 RBI in 52 games.

In the 2005 Baseball World Cup, Munoz hit .314 in 11 games. He had one at-bat in the 2006 World Baseball Classic, grounding out to first base in the game in which Shairon Martis threw a no hitter. In the 2006 Central American and Caribbean Games, he had just one hit in 12 at-bats. He played in the 2008 Americas Baseball Cup, hitting only .158.[1]
