Carlos Emiliano Rodríguez Rodríguez (born 7 April 1990) is a Uruguayan professional footballer who plays as a defender for Peñarol, on loan from Plaza Colonia.[1]
Career
Rodríguez began his career in Uruguay with Danubio.[1][2] His first match arrived on 23 August 2009, he featured for the full duration of a 1–2 victory.[1] He went on to make twenty-eight more appearances in his first two seasons with Danubio.[1] In 2011, Rodríguez spent a season on loan with Miramar Misiones.[1] A year later, Miramar Misiones signed Rodríguez permanently.[1][2] He remained with Miramar Misiones for three seasons in total, featuring forty-eight times and netting six goals.[2][3] Ahead of the 2013–14 Uruguayan Segunda División season, Boston River completed the signing of Rodríguez.[1]
He scored his first goal for the club on 22 April 2014 versus Central Español, the first of three in two campaigns.[1] On 29 July 2015, Rodríguez joined Uruguayan Primera División side Plaza Colonia.[1][4] Twenty-nine games and two goals followed in his opening season.[1] In July 2016, Rodríguez left Uruguayan football to play for Argentina's Olimpo on loan.[1][5] He netted goals against Godoy Cruz, Quilmes, Atlético de Rafaela and Independiente during 2016–17.[1] For 2017–18, Rodríguez was loaned to fellow Argentine Primera División club Tigre.[1][6] He scored his only goal for them in his second game, versus Chacarita Juniors.[1]
