Carl Channell (c. 1946 - March 15, 1990) was an American political fundraiser and lobbyist.

Early life

Channell was born circa 1946 in Elkins, West Virginia.[1] He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, and he graduated from American University.[1]

Career

Channell began his career as a motel manager in West Virginia.[2]

Channell became a conservative political fundraiser in 1979.[2] Via the National Endowment for the Preservation of Liberty, Channell attempted to "stall" the sanctions of the Anti-Apartheid Movement in South Africa.[3] He was later convicted in the Iran Contra affair.[1][2]

Death

Channell died on March 15, 1990 in Washington, D.C..[1]
