Capture One (also known as Capture One Pro) is software for cataloguing images, processing raw image files, image editing and tethered photography, developed by Phase One.[1] Capture One works with raw files from many different digital cameras as well as TIFF and JPEG image files.[2]

Features

Capture One 11 Pro is available for macOS and Microsoft Windows. It is localized for Chinese (simplified), Czech, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish and Swedish.

There is a version available for owners of digital camera backs from Phase One, Mamiya, and Leaf called Capture One DB (digital back only).

Versions of the software that work only with Sony digital cameras are available called Capture One Express Sony and Capture One Pro Sony.

Features include[3] film grain, repair layers, local adjustments, keystone correction, black and white conversion, ability to print directly from Capture One, Profoto studio plug-in, Profoto capture and lighting integration, extension to iPad and iPhone with Capture Pilot,[4] noise reduction, color correction, spot removal, HDR tools, lens tools and sharpening tools.

  • Capture One v7.0.2 – Jan. 14th, 2013 – Returned Canon camera tethering that had plagued Capture One 7 and Capture One 6.4.3 and 6.4.4 on OS X 10.7.5 and 10.8.[10]
  • Capture One v7.1 – Feb. 25, 2013 – Fixed a bug when tethering Canon cameras on a Mac that would force you restart the application if the camera became disconnected or fell asleep. A new feature of combining a Session with a Catalog was added.[11]
  • Capture One v7.1.2 – Jun. 17, 2013 – Adds the ability to link Profoto studio light to the aperture or ISO settings of the Phase One 645DF+ or DSLR camera.[12]

  • Capture One v8.2.2 – Apr. 30, 2015 – Fixes OpenCL, crash and AppleScript bugs, amongst others.[22]
  • Capture One v8.3 – Jun. 2, 2015 – New tethering engine on Mac, IQ style grid modes, camera settings tool and Capture Tool. Includes camera file and tethering support for several cameras and for DNG 1.4. Support for two Nikon lenses and the Schneider Kreuznach Macro LS 120mm f/4.0 macro lens.[23]
