Caecogobius cryptophthalmus is a species of goby that is endemic to underground habitats in Calbiga on the Philippine island of Samar.[1] This species is the only known member of its genus,[2] and the only known cavefish in the Philippines.[1] Like other cavefish, it has reduced eyes and pigmentation.[1]
