CIGNEX Datamatics, formerly Cignex, is a privately held IT company headquartered in Santa Clara, California.[5] It provides business process outsourcing services with open-source software. Cignex has development centers in Ahmedabad and Bangalore, India.[6][7]

History

Cignex was founded in 2000.[8]It was founded by Harish Ramachandran, Manish Sheladia, Munwar Shariff and Amit Babaria.[9] In 2006, venture capital firm Basil Partners invested in Cignex.[10] In April 2010 Cignex formed a joined venture with Datamatics Global Services[11] and merged AGS Technology to form Cignex Holding Corporation.[12] Jeff Colvin from AGS became chief executive at that time.[13]

In 2011, the company was acquired by Datamatics Global Services and changed its name to CIGNEX Datamatics.[4] Vijay Iyer became chief executive in May 2014.[14] David Schmittlein joined the board of directors in 2015.[3]
