The Central Section (CS) is the governing body of public and private high school athletics in the central and southern portions of the San Joaquin Valley and the Sierra Nevada counties of Inyo and Mono.[1] It is one of ten sections that comprise the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF). The Central Section includes 104 member schools who are part of 18 leagues.[2] Effective in the 2018-19 school year, all high schools in San Luis Obispo County and northern Santa Barbara County will be joining the CIF Central Section.
