Coordination Group Publications is a UK educational publisher and textbook publishing company which has published over 600 books.[1] Their main range is "CGP Revision Guides"; these are written in an informal style, containing many "jokes" and diagrams. The company was founded by, and is owned by, Richard Parsons.[2]

CGP Revision Guides

CGP Revision Guides are the main product line published by CGP. They cover a range of school subjects at varying levels, from Key Stage 1 through to A Level. They are written using colloquial English (with limited availability in Welsh [3]), and they contain a large number of "humorous" puns and diagrams. They are recommended by a number of schools.[4][5] Their books make reference to exam questions in, and taken out of, the UK National Curriculum. Their mainbooks are for core subjects, Maths, English and Science.[6]

Controversy

The informal and humorous style in which many of CGP's books are written has caused controversy, especially considering that they are aimed at teenagers. There were complaints about their sex education guide, with claims it was "explicit" and how it "trivialised sex".[6]
