C. Ramachamdra Menon was a cinematographer, especially in Malayalam film, who worked on more than 150 films in Malayalam.[1] He was the cinematographer for the film Ummachu, based on the novel of the same name. He also is famous for his work on Eeta and Ningalenne Communistakki. He frequently worked with P. Bhaskaran and Kunchacko on films in Malayalam. He also worked on Tamil films.
Personal life and career
He was born as the son of P. K. M. Raja of Thiruvannoor Kovilakam and Chagalatha Janakiyamma in 1929 at Kozhikode. He worked under Markus Burtly at the Vahini studio. In 1956, he went to Singapore. There he worked as a photographer for around six years. He returned home in 1970 and worked with the Udaya studio.[2] He was married to Malathi Menon, and had two children: Maya, and Goutham Menon. He died on May 9, 2017.
