By Any Means is an American thriller directed by Leighton Spence and starring Brooke Burfitt,[2] Thomas Gipson, Jonathan Cheban and Michelle Money. The film had its first screening in Ireland before a run of international film festivals around the world in 2016.[3] Gravitas Ventures acquired the distribution rights of the film; which will be released by video on demand and on DVD on June 27, 2017.

"By Any Means" received international recognition after convicted kidnapper Lukasz Herba said in the closing statement of his trial that he was inspired after watching the movie.[4] Herba was sentenced to almost seventeen years in jail for the Abduction of Chloe Ayling in July 2017, eight weeks after the release of the film.

Reception

Film critic, Gareth Jamieson, says the film "will keep you guessing until the very end, as characters' stories and motives shift and change"[5] and Ramsgate based film critic Maxwell Hubbard describes By Any Means as "a taut thriller which gradually peels back the layers before we have the whole picture, revealing a sinister and morally murky subtext."[6]

Awards

By Any Means has been officially selected for a number of film festivals around the world, including Ramsgate Film Festival [7] and was official selected for the Bermuda International Film Festival. [8][9] The film won big at the 2016 Wexford Film Festival where it took home the Best Film award and Brooke Burfitt for Best Actress.[10] The film won Best International Feature Film at the Polish International Film Festival 2017
