Bwenieve Records is a Kenyan based record label co founded by record producer Agundabweni Akweyu and his wife Evelyn Wanjiru a renown Kenyan gospel musician on May 5, 2010.The label has produced hit songs for musicians like Evelyn Wanjiru herself, Gloria Muliro, Emmy Kosgei,[1] Kambua, Tumaini,[2] Martha Mwaipaja[2] and more.

History

Bwenieve records started when record producer Agundabweni Akweyu by then working for a human resource firm discovered Evelyn Wanjiru and tried to source for a good producer to record her but they were all expensive for him to afford.Agundabweni decided to study music production online through YouTube tutorials so that he can record Evelyn.It took him a few months to understand recording, on May 5, 2010 record producer Agundabweni had resigned his job and with little money he had teamed up with Evelyn to start Bwenieve records. Between 2010 and 2013 Bwenieve produced "Mazingira"[3] "Waweza" and "Mungu Mkuu" songs for Evelyn that did very well got a lot of radio and TV air plays.The success of the two songs turnt around for good for Bwenieve records and more upcoming musicians gained confidence in the label, songs like "Mungu yu mwema"[4] by Praise Makena, "Kiwango"[5] by Meisi Tamar and "Angalia Baba" by Rosemary Njagi were among the first few songs produced from Bwenieve and did very well during that period.

In 2014 Bwenieve records relocated to Nairobi and produced "Tulia" a collabration between Vicky Kitonga and Evelyn Wanjiru a song that worn groove awards collaboration of the year 2015. This resulted to a massive turn around in the Kenyan gospel scene in such a way that many upcoming and established musicians aspired to work with Bwenieve records.Since then Bwenieve has produced songs to famous artists like Emmy Kosgei, Gloria Muliro, Kambua, Tumaini and more.
