BuyNOW TVwas a Canadian English language specialty television channel owned by BuyNOW Media Inc. which is wholly owned by serial entrepreneur Evan Kosiner.[1]

BuyNOW TV was a direct response shopping channel that broadcast infomercials. The channel's programming featured products from a variety of categories including fitness, cooking, fashion, wellness, beauty, electronics, and more.

BuyNOW TV's screen was formatted with a smaller video screen than most other television channels with the right and bottom portions of the screen consisting of a ticker, consisting of static advertisements.

BuyNOW TV was classified as a teleshopping service by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) and, thus, was exempted from requiring a CRTC-issued licence to operate and most other CRTC requirements to which pay TV and specialty channels are subject to.[2]

History

The channel launched in the summer of 2014[3] initially on Rogers Cable in both standard and high definition television in Ontario, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland and Labrador. The channel was subsequently launched on additional television service providers - Zazeen and V Media, along with live streaming on YouTube.

Without any announcement or press coverage, the channel was discontinued in 2017.
