Burnmouth railway station was a railway station that served the village of Burnmouth, Ayton, Scotland from 1846 to 1962 on the East Coast Main Line.

History

The station opened in 1846 by the North British Railway. The station was situated to the south of Ayton station and to the north of Berwick-upon-Tweed station. The original building for the station was a one storey building on a T-plan, but it is now a residence building.[1] The station closed on 5 February 1962 to both passengers and completely.[2] On 13 April 1891 the Eyemouth Railway was opened, providing a rail link from Burnmouth station to Eyemouth.[3] Traffic on the branch declined from the 1930s onwards and the line closed to all traffic on 5 February 1962.[4]
