Bukit Chagar RTS station is a planned elevated terminal station in Johor Bahru, Johor. As part of the Southern Integrated Gateway, the station will be located north of Johor Bahru Sentral, forming the Malaysia terminus of the Johor Bahru–Singapore Rapid Transit System. It is scheduled to be open by the end of 2024. It will mean 60,000 additional commuters will be able to cross the Causeway during peak hours.[1]

History

The Bukit Chagar station was announced on 15 September 2015 during the Iskandar Malaysia Comprehensive Development Plan Open Day. It was chosen in a public pool. The other three options were Tanjung Puteri, JB Sentral 1 and JB Sentral 2.[2][3]

The Bukit Chagar RTS terminal station will have its own Customs and Immigration clearance facilities and will not be sharing with existing facilities at the Sultan Iskandar Building complex.[4]
