Buchan Observer

The Buchan Observer is a local weekly newspaper based in Peterhead, which serves Peterhead and surrounding Buchan. Known locally as 'The Buchanie', the Buchan Observer is renowned for its coverage of Peterhead F.C. The newspaper also has a comprehensive farming and fishing section, and includes a special 'Drive' supplement which showcases new and used cars for sale in the local area.

It has two sister newspapers, namely the Fraserburgh Herald and Ellon Times.

It was established by John McArthur and Sir Hugh Reid in 1863.[1]

The editorial team consists of Ken Duncan (Editor), Morag Ledingham (Deputy), and reporters Kirstie Topp and Joshua King. Former reporters include Ruth Thomson, Leona Findlay, Chris lamont, Alan Pirie, Billy Youngson, Ryan Crighton, Gavin Roberts, Carla Duthie and Arran Morton.
