Bryn (Ukrainian: Бринь) is a village in Halych Raion of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast in Western Ukraine.
The population of the village is about 706 people and Local government is administered by Brynska village council.[1]

Geography

The village occupies 11,3 km2 at an altitude of 305 metres (1,000 ft) above sea level and is located on the left bank of Lukva River.[2] It is at a distance 22 kilometres (14 mi) from the regional center of Ivano-Frankivsk, 17 kilometres (11 mi) from the district center Halych, and 20 kilometres (12 mi) from the Kalush.

History and Attractions

The first written record of the village dates from 1555. But in territory of village was excavated are several burial places of Carpathian Kurgan culture 4th-5th centuries and the mound of Kievan Rus.
In the village is saved wooden Church of transfer of the relics of Saint Nikolas.[3]

Famous people

Of Ostap Nyzhankivsky the father Josyf Nyzhankivsky (1836-1911) was buried in the village of Bryn in 1911.[4]
