Bruce Craig
Bruce Craig (born December 1962)[1] is a businessperson, entrepreneur and owner of Bath Rugby club.
As of 2017, Craig has a net worth of £300 million, according to The Sunday Times Rich List.[2]
Early life
Born in Chew Magna, Craig's father worked for British American Tobacco.[3]
Craig studied at St Brendan's College, where he was captain of the school's rugby team.[4] He missed the final England schools rugby trials because of a broken leg.[4]
Between 1987 and 1993, Craig played rugby for French team Racing 92.[5]
Career
In 2007, Craig led a management buyout of pharmaceutical logistics company Marken with the support of Intermediate Capital Group.[6] Craig was the majority shareholder and chief executive of the company.[6]
In 2009, the company was bought by Apax Partners for £977 million, with Craig continuing to hold a minority stake.[6]
Bath Rugby
In 2010, Craig bought Bath Rugby and moved the club's administrative headquarters into Farleigh House, where there is also a training ground.[7][5]
Craig also announced plans to build a new 18,000-capacity stadium for the club.[8]
Private life
Craig owns a Citation jet.[9] He is married and has a home near Marseille.[3]
