Career

The older sister of AFL Women's League footballer Kristy Stratton,[3] Brooke started her career at Knox Athletics following in the footsteps of her talented older brother, Jamie Stratton. She attended Caulfield Grammar School, at Wheelers Hill, Victoria from 2007 to 2011, where she was an outstanding athlete; for example, competing for the school, she won six (under 15) titles at the 2007 Associated Public Schools of Victoria athletics meeting: 100m, 200m, 400m, 90m hurdles, triple jump, and long jump.[4]

She competed at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing narrowly missing the final and later at the 2016 Summer Olympics finishing seventh.[5]

Her personal best in the event is 7.05 metres set at the Perth Track Classic on March 12, 2016, breaking the 14-year-old Australian record held by Bronwyn Thompson.

She was selected for the Australian Athletics team (in long jump) at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast, Queensland.[6][7]
