British Toxicology Society

The British Toxicology Society is the main British professional association for toxicologists.

History

It was formed in 1979.

Structure

It is headquartered in Staffordshire.[1]

Function

In 1993 it worked with the Royal Society of Biology[2] to produce the UK Register of Toxicologists; this is added to the Register of Toxiclogists of EUROTOX (European Society of Toxicology).

It holds the annual British Toxicology Society Congress in April, held at Newcastle in 2018. It produces the journal Toxicology Research, which works with the RSC's ChemSpider chemical structure database.[3]
