Bridgewater Chocolate is a United States premium chocolate and confectionery company. The company was founded by Erik Landergen and Andrew Blauner in 1996, and is headquartered in the town of Brookfield, Connecticut.[1] Bridgewater Chocolate is the largest premium confectionery manufacturer and distributor in Connecticut,[2] and offers many retail locations in the United States and the Middle East, specializing in a variety of products by region.[3]
History
Bridgewater chocolate was founded in 1996 by Erik Landergen, an immigrant from Stockholm, Sweden. He also founded a seasonal restaurant known as Aquivit, which operates in New York City. The company is named after Erik's hometown, Bridgewater, Connecticut.[4] In 2016, the company partnered with Alshaya and expanded its operations into Kuwait, being their first location in the Middle East.[5] The company now also has retail stores in Bahrain and Qatar.[6]
