Brideswell is a small village located in South County Roscommon in Ireland.

Education

Brideswell National School is a three-teacher primary school, catering for children from junior infants to sixth class. Approximately sixty to seventy pupils attend the school.

Tourism

Saint Brigid's holy well is located next to Brideswell National School.

Facilities

There are two public houses in the village; Hamrock's and O'Connell's. A post office, located at the Eskerbane end of the village, is open every weekday. Adjacent to the post office there is a handball alley, which has fallen into disrepair and is now rarely used. O'Connell's shop closed down in recent years.

Sport

The nearest sports club to the village is Cam Celtic soccer club, which plays its home matches in the nearby Community Centre. Gaelic Football is widely played by the locals; the local team is St. Brigids (Roscommon) GAA. Handball is also widely played by the locals in the handball alley located in nearby Curraghboy.

Pattern

The Pattern is an annual event held in the village involving a mass ceremony in the morning followed by a festival in the village for the remainder of the day. The event is held on the last Sunday of July each year.
