Brenda Chawner is a New Zealand library academic. After a BA and MLS at the University of Alberta, she did a PhD at Victoria University of Wellington[1] on the use of free and open source software in libraries.[2]

Since 2011, Chawner has been the editor of The New Zealand Library and Information Management Journal.[3] In 2012, she won a LIANZA Fellowship.[4] In 2012 and 2014 she was a judge at the New Zealand Open Source Awards.[5][6]
