Brandy Melville is an Italian clothing and fashion accessories brand, marketing their products to teenage girls and young women. The company was established in 1970 by Silvio Marsan and his son.[1] The company's products are sold in physical stores and through their website. Most of their apparel are only offered in one size.[2] This has brought criticism upon the company, with some considering their size to be smaller than average for most girls.[3][4]

Brandy Melville's first retail store was opened in 2009 at UCLA in the Westwood neighborhood of Los Angeles,[5][6] and by 2015, the brand had grown to 65 stores worldwide. In a similar way to Primark, it places little emphasis on advertising, relying instead on social media and word-of-mouth.[1]
