Bowmanville High School (also known as BHS) is a public secondary school located in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada, within the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board. The school includes Grades 9 – 12, and offers a French Immersion program. The principal at Bowmanville High School is James Patenall.[1]

Academics

BHS offers Advanced Placement (AP) and pre-AP courses in Math and English. Students can begin their enrichment program in Grade 9 to receive a more challenging program and, in Grade 12, AP students will have the opportunity to write AP exams.[2]

Athletics

Bowmanville High School offers many sports teams throughout the academic year, available for both males and females. The following is a list of sports teams currently being offered:

  • Winter: Girl's Hockey, Girl's Volleyball, Boy's Basketball, Boy's Hockey, Badminton, Swimming, Curling, Wrestling
  • Spring: Girl's Field Lacrosse, Girl's Soccer, Boy's Field Lacrosse, Boy's Baseball, Track and Field

Music and arts

The BHS Music Department offers co-curricular music opportunities outside of their normal music classes. Students have the opportunity to join the junior band, senior band, jazz ensemble, concert choir, and drumline. There is also an annual theatrical production.
