"Boomerang" is the debut song by JoJo Siwa, an American dancer and singer, a former Dance Moms cast member. It was released as a digital single on May 6, 2016.[3][2][4]

Musical style and lyrics

It is an upbeat song[3] that deals with the issue of cyberbullying. The song's message is to not listen to haters who write evil comments to you on the Internet and thus achieve a triumph over online bullies.[3][2][4]

Reception

On February 24, 2017, the single was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).[5] On August 31, 2017 the song was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).[6]

Music video

The music video directed by Monsee Wood was released on May 17, 2016. By mid-March 2017 the music video had been viewed on YouTube more than 200 million times.[7] As of October 2018, the music video has been viewed over 600 million times on YouTube. The video features Jessalyn Siwa (her mother) and former Dance Moms cast.
