Boombox Cartel is a Los Angeles-based DJ duo consisting of producers Americo Garcia (of Laredo, Texas) and Jorge Medina (of Mexico City, Mexico).[3] The pair of producers have bounced between electro, dubstep, trap, and hip hop, taking pieces from each genre away with them and reassembling their influences in the studio.

History

Garcia and Medina met in high school in their native Monterrey of Mexico after a mutual friend introduced them. Shortly after, they moved to Minnesota to further their musical ambitions by studying at the McNalley Smith school in St. Paul. Boombox Cartel was formed when the duo moved to Los Angeles, releasing songs such as "B2U", "Aftershock" and "Supernatural". Their debut extended play Cartel was released in April 2017.[3][6]
