Occurrence in southeast Newfoundland

The Bonavista Formation is an Early Cambrian formation cropping out in Newfoundland, dominated by red mudstones, with some purple-green mudstones, and the occasional nodular limestone interbedded. Basally, there is a gritty conglomerate.[2]
