Bolivar, una lucha admirable or simply Bolívar,[1] is an upcoming Colombian biographical television series written by Juana Uribe and that will air on Caracol Televisión.[2] The series is based on the life on the Venezuelan liberator Simón Bolívar and,[1] will stars Luis Gerónimo Abreu and José Ramón Barreto.[3]

Production

Casting

On March 7, 2018, José Ramón Barreto and Irene Esser were confirmed as protagonists of the first part of the story.[4] Luis Gerónimo Abreu was also confirmed as Simón Bolívar in his adult stage and Shany Nadan as Manuela Sáenz.[4]

Location

Filming of the series began in March 2018 in Cartagena, Colombia.[5] The series is shot in Colombia and cities such as Villa de Leyva, Monguí, Calí, Popayán, Los Nevados National Natural Park, El Páramo de Oceta and the Eastern Plains of Colombia.[6] In May 2018 the production moved to Toledo, Spain, and with the help of Galdo Media they shot some scenes on the Lavaderos de Rojas estate.[7] The series is also shot between the border of Venezuela and Colombia.[8]
