Bodhi Jones (born May 3, 1981) is a singer-songwriter from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He has been performing in the local music scene for more than eight years. In June 2018, he was charged with four counts of sexual assault following an investigation by the Vancouver Police Department's Sex Crimes Unit that began in March 2017.

Biography

Bodhi Jones spent his early years on Saltspring Island, British Columbia with his sister and mother. His mom moved the family to Vancouver shortly after his tenth birthday in search of greater opportunity. Bodhi discovered his passion for music during his illness riddled pre-teen years, and since then has developed his own unique brand of Alt-pop-Acoustic-rock.

Since 2005, initially as the vocal half of the duo "Rider Jones", but more recently as a solo artist, Bodhi has recorded five EPs and three full-length albums, selling over 15,000 copies while busking on the streets of downtown Vancouver. In 2007, after the breakup of "Rider Jones" he purchased "Guitar for Dummies"[1] and taught himself to play, eventually releasing his first solo album "From January to June" which sold 1000+ copies.

In February 2009, Bodhi wrote, recorded, and produced his self-titled full-length album Bodhi Jones, and in April 2010 he released a full-length album titled "Where Do We Go From Here?" This album was produced by Winston Hauschild (Hannah Georgas) and mixed by Shawn Cole (Bend Sinister, Yukon Blonde, and You Say Party! We Say Die!).

2009 also saw Bodhi selected as Virgin Radio 95.3 "Best of BC artist of the month",[2] voted into the 2009 Peak Performance Project's Top 20[3] where he came in 6th overall, and named Vancouver's best busker by The Georgia Straight. On May 31, 2010 he was voted into the 2010 Peak Performance Project's Top 20].[3] for the second consecutive year.

Bodhi performed his 2010 Winter Olympics inspired song "Hey El Nino" live on CTV's Canada AM and Global BC's Morning Show in January and also performed on Shaw Cables Urban Rush in October 2010. His latest album "Where Do We Go From Here?' was officially released on October 1 and has received airplay on 100.5 The Peak,[4] CBC Radio 3 and CBC Radio 1,[5] Virgin Radio Vancouver,[6] The Shore, CITR and CFSFU since then.

On June 20, 2018, Bodhi was arrested and charged with 4 counts of sexual assault while working as a massage therapist in Vancouver. Several of his female patients reported to police that they were allegedly assaulted by Jones during massage treatments between September 2016 and March 2017.
