Bob Hall (American political journalist)

Bob Hall was the Executive Director of Democracy North Carolina.[1]

Career

Since 1970, Hall has worked with grassroots groups across the Southern United States. He has worked on the topic of voting rights and campaign finance reform. In 1993, Hall was elected to the Common Cause Board of Governors. Hall was the founding editor of Southern Exposure for 25 years[2] where he published books and articles on contemporary Southern culture.[3]

Personal

He obtained his Master of Arts (Sociology and Religion) degree from Columbia University.[1]

Honors and awards

Hall has won a number of awards, including:

  • MacArthur Fellows Program award, 1992[1][4]
  • North Carolina Press Association’s First Amendment Award
  • North Carolina AARP’s Advocacy Friend of the Year Award
  • North Carolina NAACP’s Political Trailblazer Award[2]
