Boath or Bonthala (old name) is a Major Thalook ,Major Gram panchayat & one of a Constituency of Adilabad district in Telangana State.[1] India

Geography

Both or Boath is located at 19°20′00″N 78°20′00″E / 19.3333°N 78.3333°E / 19.3333; 78.3333.[2] It has an average elevation of 418 meters (1374 feet).

Demographics

According to Indian census, 2001, the demographic details of Boath mandal is as follows:[3]

  • Male population: 21,359 and female population: 21,407
  • Children under 6-years of age: 6,534 (boys - 3,297 and girls - 3,237)

Boath village is just 10 km away from National Highway - 44, connecting from Varanasi to Kaniyakumari. Boath is well connected by bus route from Nirmal, Adilabad in Telangana and Kinwat in Maharashtra. The nearest railway station is Bodhadi Buzurg in Maharashtra on the Adilabad - Mudkhed railway line. Boath has an old Vithaleshwar temple. The primary revenue sources of the Taluq is agriculture, with Cotton being the main cash crop. Boath has around 6 cotton ginning mills. The chief irrigation method is borewell irrigation with some acreage under the new boath irrigation project which was built recently. Deep forest is in the vicinity of Boath.

History

Boath is the only proto historic city in the district ,Boath is an Major agricultural and district's backbone mandal interms of agriculture before and after district's bifurcation in 2017,It's one of the biggest taluk in the District fallowing Adilabad since NIZAM Era and one of the major Financial city in NIZAM Rulings and the Brahmins are constituted heavily in this city Due to some rapid change interms of roads facilities in the districts the city kept away from development and one of the biggest drawback is the National Highway (NH7),which is primarily allotted via this city and rather kept side and the other cities like NIRMAL,ECHODA, ADILABAD growing faster comparing to Boath because of this Highway
