Bloodmoon is a three-piece progressive metal band from San Luis Obispo, California, U.S. They were formed in 2010 by Peter Tomis, Jason Goldie and Patrick Mulholland and are still active. Their latest release Voidbound was self-released in 2013 to international acclaim and was subsequently picked up for a vinyl release by Black Voodoo Records in 2015. Their follow-up, Supervoid Trinity is due out in 2018. They have a penchant for experimenting with different styles of music while keeping a main thread of heaviness and have thus dubbed themselves Gray Metal

Overview

Brief history

Bloodmoon formed in 2010, started playing live in 2011 and self-released their first EP, Orenda, in 2012.[1] This was followed up by their first full-length album Voidbound in 2013 which was also self-released and then released on vinyl in 2015 by Black Voodoo Records.[2]

Live

Bloodmoon has toured the west coast several times(2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017) as far south as San Diego and as far north as Seattle. They have toured with North, Serial Hawk and Fister. Between tours they headline and support all over California. They have supported veterans like Eyehategod, Agalloch, High on Fire and Black Cobra.[3] They have also opened for newer notable bands such as Intronaut, Kayo Dot, Lord Dying, Author & Punisher. Festival appearances have included Psycho CA in Santa Ana, CA(2015), Epic Fest 2 in Chico, CA(2015) and headlined Black Voodoo Fest in Glendale, CA(2016).
