Bill Lawrence (guitar maker)

Bill Lawrence (born Willi Lorenz Stich on March 24, 1931 in Cologne-Wahn, Germany, died on November 2, 2013 in Southern California, USA) was a recording musician, a pickup designer/maker and guitar designer/maker[1] in the musical instrument industry, designing musical instrument accessories, namely pickups and guitars for Framus,[2][3][4][5] Fender, Gibson, Peavey and other companies from the 1950s to the present.[6] He co-founded Lawrence Sound Research in 1975, but parted ways with the company (and the "Bill Lawrence USA" brand) in 1984, going on to found Wilde Pickups (as "Wilde Bill") with wife Becky.
