Big Three (Greece)

The Big Three (Greek: Το μεγάλο τρεις) is the nickname of the three most successful sports clubs in Greece. The football teams of AEK Athens F.C., Olympiacos F.C. and Panathinaikos F.C. have a great rivalry, and are usually the main contenders for the title. Combined they share a total of 76 out of 82 Greek Football Championships ever played and generally they usually end up sharing the top three positions.

Several other clubs outside the big three have won the Greek league, with Aris F.C. having the fourth most national titles behind the big three with 3 in total. Today, the chief competitors of the three are PAOK FC, AEL FC and Panionios F.C..[1][2][3][4]
