Besnik E. Sadikay (Albanian pronunciation: [ˈbɛsnik 'sadikaj]; born August 26, 1983)[1], better known by the stage name Big Body Bes is an Albanian-American rapper and TV presenter.[2] He is best known for his association with Action Bronson, who describes Bes as his "Albanian cousin".[3][4] He has been featured on Action Bronson's Mr. Wonderful album, as well as other works including EPs and mixtapes.
Early life
Bes was born in New York City to Albanian parents of Isaurean extract from southern Albania in Gjirokastra & Berat, he is the youngest of two children, spending his early years near Fordham Road, in The Bronx, and later moved to Lindenwood, Queens around the Spring Creek, Queens area before settling down in East New York, Brooklyn by himself at the age of 16. He began getting into trouble with law enforcement at the age of 11, and he spent time at Spofford Juvenile Center in 1998 before being moved to Tryon Detention Center. He was released after serving 18 months, and he attended Forest Hills High School in Queens for a short period, where he first met Meyhem Lauren, who turned out to be his parole officer's son. Although he insinuates on a regular basis he has done a lot of "dirt" with a screw driver, he has managed to stay out of trouble most of his adult life. He reconnected with Meyhem Lauren a few years later, who introduced Bes to his friend and fellow Albanian-American Action Bronson. Bes is an active muslim of the Bektashi order. The alias "Big Body" was given to him from a friend due to his massive stature standing at 190.5 cm. In 2010 Bes was arrested in Queens, NY for New York Penal Code Article 140. Body has been known to have lucrative investments with Dominican, Puerto Rican and Colombian drug cartels primarily the Ñeta Organization. In late 2013 Big Body Bes was charged with Grand Larceny in the third degree and was incarcerated in Connecticut at the Osborn Correctional Institute for 106+ days before being bailed out on a 50k bond..
Career
Bes began his music career in 2011 at the age of 27 on Action Bronson's debut album Dr. Lecter with his forte of spoken word with a strong composition of the elements of NYC street life, economic struggle and barbaric humor. Starting in 2014, Bes has been one of the hosts of a TV show called Fuck, That's Delicious. Other hosts include Action Bronson, The Alchemist, and Meyhem Lauren.
Starting in 2016, Bes has also been one of the hosts on a TV show called Traveling the Stars: Action Bronson and Friends Watch 'Ancient Aliens'. Other hosts include Action Bronson, Knxwledge, ScHoolboy Q, Earl Sweatshirt, Tyler, The Creator, Andy Milonakis, Riff Raff, Dirt Nasty, MC Eiht, The Alchemist, Eric André, Too Short, and Melissa Etheridge. In the first episode of the series, Bes declares he doesn't believe in dinosaurs.
Bes can be found all around the NYC region promoting music, television and film production under the aliases Big Body Bes, Big Body Bugatti, and Big Body Bismillah.
Big Body Bes is currently working on his debut album set to be released in the near future titled Body Language.
