Bidvest Insurance, a subsidiary of the Bidvest Group based in South Africa, is an authorized financial services provider in short-term insurance, specialising in automotive value add insurance products and commercial insurance. Bidvest Insurance is part of the Bidvest Financial Services division of the Bidvest Group.[1]
History
The company was founded in 1997 as part of McCarthy Motor Holdings known as McCarthy Insurance Services 2004 Bidvest Group bought McCarthy Motor Holdings and McCarthy Insurance Services then became Bidvest Insurance falling under the Bidvest Financial Services division.
2015 Receives a GCR Rating of A from the Global Credit Rating Company with the outlook of stable [2]

Affinity Channel
This division is a financial services provider holding a full short term insurance license. Bidvest Insurance is a short term insurer licensed to underwrite accident & health, liability, motor, miscellaneous, property, and transport insurance.
Broker Channel
Bidvest Insurance offers a broad range of insurance and risk management solutions through a dedicated team of experienced underwriters who are specialists in Commercial and SME sectors.
Direct Channel
The in-house contact centre is also an authorised financial services provider that provides sales and broking functions to Bidvest Insurance as well as a host of other independent partner companies. Its cutting-edge systems have it perfectly positioned to offer both inbound and outbound sales campaigns, service calls, customer care and any other contact centre based services.
Handre Pollard's R2 million insurance
In 2015 Springbok flyhalf Handré Pollard’s kicking foot was insured by Bidvest Insurance for R2 million (ZAR) ($230 000 - USD) during the Rugby World Cup.[3]
Community Involvement
The Bidvest Insurance contributes to community development through its various businesses which are actively involved within their communities. Corporate projects include:
- LIV Village[4] is a sanctuary that provides holistic residential care for vulnerable children. They place parentless children into a family environment that meets their physical needs and also provides unconditional love, spiritual discipleship, care and nurturing.
- Rally to Read is a community outreach program providing books and educational materials to students and teachers at under-privileged South African schools.[5]
