Bhatapara is a city and a nagar palika in Baloda Bazar - Bhatapara district in the state of Chhattisgarh, India.

Bhatapara is a municipal or Nagar Pallika town. It has a full fledged municipal civic body to look after all its day to day civic administration. For better administration it has been divided into several wards. Election for these wards are held in once in every 5 years. Bhatapara Municipal Council is responsible for supplying water to all households, sewage maintenance, constructing new highways and collection of property tax etc. Another very important local administrator is Balodabazar-Bhatapara District Collector. A District Collector is actually head of the entire and discharges many duties and responsibilities that determine the fate of entire district.

Bhatapara is famous for Mills and Famous for Semaria Ghat Mela, RamNaam Saptah also.

As of 2011 Indian census,[2] Bhatapara had a population of 96784. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Bhatapara has an average literacy rate of 65%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 74% and female literacy of 55%.
