This is a list of best-selling albums in the United States of the Nielsen SoundScan era. Nielsen SoundScan began tracking sales data for Billboard on March 1, 1991. The list of albums sales are between 1991 and 2014 (see below):

NOTE: Nielsen SoundScan data is unrelated to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certifications. Nielsen SoundScan data is based on actual sales and the RIAA's certification process is based on shipments.
