Bert-Jan Lindeman (born 16 June 1989) is a Dutch professional road bicycle racer who rides for UCI WorldTeam LottoNL–Jumbo. His older brother Adrie is also a cyclist,[2] who last rode for the Koga team in the Netherlands.
Career
Born in Emmen, Lindeman has competed as a professional since 2009, and has competed for the KrolStonE Continental Team and Cycling Team Jo Piels, before joining Vacansoleil–DCM in the second half of 2011 as a stagiaire.[3] Lindeman remained with Vacansoleil–DCM after his stint as a stagiaire, having signed a two-year deal from 2012.[4][5] In March 2012, Lindeman achieved his first victory with the team, by winning the Ronde van Drenthe; after initiating a breakaway with Guillaume Boivin (SpiderTech–C10),[6] Lindeman out-sprinted Boivin for the victory.[7]
Lindeman joined the Rabobank Development Team for the 2014 season, after his previous team – Vacansoleil–DCM – folded at the end of the 2013 season.[1] He then moved to the senior team, LottoNL–Jumbo for the 2015 season.[8] Lindeman took his first win for the team in the 2015 Vuelta a España, winning stage 7 from the breakaway.[9] He was named in the start list for the 2016 Tour de France.[10]
