Bernice Zamora

Bernice B. Ortiz Zamora (born 1938) is a Chicana poet, "one of the preeminent poets to emerge from the Chicano movement of the 1960s and 1970s".[1][2] She received a B.A. from Southern Colorado State College and, in 1986, her Ph.D. from Stanford University. Her first collection of poetry, Restless Serpents, was jointly published in 1979 with José Antonio Burciaga.[3] She has taught at Santa Clara University since 1990.
