Benoni Zalmi is a professional franchise Twenty20 cricket team of the T20 Global League in South Africa, which represents the city of Benoni. It is owned by Javed Afridi, a Pakistani businessman who also owns the Peshawar Zalmi franchise in the Pakistan Super League. The marquee player and captain of Benoni Zalmi is Quinton de Kock.[3]

Team identity

The word Zalmi is a Pashto language word meaning youth.[4] The logo of the team is a fusion of a traditional Peshawari turban with cricket stumps.
