Benno Dorer

Benno Dorer (*1964 in Furtwangen im Schwarzwald, Germany) is a German manager who has been the CEO and Chairman of consumer-goods company Clorox since November 2014 and August 2016, respectively.[1]

He has been an executive with the company since January 2005, previously responsible for, among others, The Glad Products Company and kitty litter brands. Prior to his tenure at Clorox he had worked for Procter and Gamble in marketing since 1990. He holds degrees in economics from the University of Freiburg (1986) and in business from Saarland University (1990).[2]

As of September 2016, Dorer is reported to own approximately 27,000 Clorox shares worth US$ 3.4 million.[3] His total annual compensation in 2016 amounted to US$ 8.9 Million. He is on the board of the Chabot Space and Science Center, as well as the American Cleaning Institute. He was announced highest-rated CEO by Glassdoor in their 2017 Employees' Choice Awards, surpassing Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg in the top-ten list.
