Ben Nemtin (born January 10, 1984) is a Canadian producer,[1] writer,[2] speaker[3] and television personality. He is the creator, executive producer and cast member of MTV series The Buried Life which aired in over 80 countries and is MTV's highest rated show ever on iTunes.[4] Ben is co-author of the book What Do You Want To Do Before You Die?. The book became a #1 New York Times Best Seller shortly after its release.

Ben has created and produced multiple television series for major networks and is a regular keynote speaker at global leadership and impact conferences.

About Nemtin

Nemtin was born in Victoria, British Columbia. After graduating high school, Ben was selected as a member of the Canadian national rugby team,[5] and earned academic and athletic scholarships to attend the University of Victoria. At University, fed up with the monotony of day-to-day life, Ben and his friends set out on a two-week road trip with a camera and a borrowed RV to complete a list of "100 things to do before you die." Along their journey, they asked people the question, "What do you want to do before you die?"[6] For each item they accomplished on their list, they helped a complete stranger do something on their own list.

After that road trip, Nemtin and his friends were approached by MTV Canada to make a television show but they respectfully passed not wanting to risk giving up creative control and jeopardizing the authenticity of The Buried Life. Nemtin and his friends secured funding independently in order to shoot a pilot and approached MTV in the United States, ultimately selling the show as Executive Producers and Creators, maintaining creative control and officially crossing off '#53: Make a TV Show'.

In the television series and beyond, Ben and his friends continue to help other people cross items off their bucket list including reuniting a father and son after 17 years,[7] helping a young man find a healthy kidney,[8] taking a hospitalized girl to see her first concert,[9] reuniting two long lost lovers,[10] surprising a girl born with one hand with a new bionic arm[11] and taking six kids to cross off 100 bucket list items in ten days in Europe.[12]

Nemtin and the creators of The Buried Life launched Four Peaks Media Group, a full-service production company that creates content and IP for television, film, and new media. Ben resides in Los Angeles and speaks regularly about doing the impossible and helping others.

Ben is Creator and Executive Producer of Dare to Live (MTV),[13] Movie Nite with Karlie Kloss (Freeform),[14] Greatest Party Story Ever (MTV)[15] and The Buried Life (MTV).[16]

Writing — Nemtin's book "What Do You Want To Do Before You Die?" (Artisan/Workman Publishing) hit #1 on the New York Times Bestsellers list and stayed on the list for four weeks. Along with a sold-out multi-city, national book tour, Nemtin and his co-authors made appearances on the Today Show,[17] Rachael Ray[18] and Dr. Drew's Loveline.[19] The book was translated into 6 languages and sold in 6 foreign countries.
