Ben Lyttleton

Ben Lyttleton is a London based football journalist, consultant and author for both adults and children.

Lyttleton wrote 'Twelve Yards: The Art & Psychology of the Perfect Penalty'.[1][2] He also authored ‘Edge: What Business Can Learn from Football’.[3] He has written a series of ‘Football School’ books for children with Alex Bellos [4][5] which have been longlisted for the UKLA 2018 Book Award and shortlisted for the Blue Peter Book Award in 2017.[6]

He has also written for Time,[7] The Guardian,[8] Sports Illustrated,[9] and FourFourTwo[10] As well as the Evening Standard,[11] The Blizzard,[12] Eurosport,[13] Sky Sports[14] The Daily Telegraph,[15] and The Scotsman.[16]

He has appeared on the ‘Beyond the Pitch’ podcast,[17] As well as the BBC,[18] ‘Planet Fùtbol’,[19] Al Jazeera,[20] Off The Ball,[21] and ESPN.[22]

He started on Total Football (magazine), When Saturday Comes[23] and ‘Football Italia’ magazines and edited ‘Football Espana’.[24]

He also acts as a consultant for Soccernomics and has advised association football clubs and national football governing bodies on business strategies for developing new products to the football market.[25] When asked by FourFourTwo Lyttleton chose as his favourite football book The Miracle of Castel di Sangro by Joe McGinniss (1999).[26]
